Every published number on this site carries the identifier of the collection run that produced it. This is that run: which reader executed, when, what it covered, and whether the counts beside it are a measurement or a placeholder.

A completed run proves a reader executed and wrote down what it saw, at the time above. It does not prove the source was right. Where we read a venue’s own figure, this record shows that we fetched it faithfully and nothing more; the comparisons that test a source against the chain live on the reconciliation page.
And it does not prove the figure is current. A number is as old as the run behind it, which is the reason the identifier is published beside the number rather than in a log.
One run in isolation cannot say whether it was ordinary. These are the five before it.
